Marty Lee Baker, 61, of Fort Payne, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026. He was born February 21, 1965 in Fort Payne to Jimmy Dale Baker and the late Iris Faye Farmer Baker. Marty had a genuine love for people and was known for his kindness, humbleness, and respect for others. He was a faithful member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and attended Mt. Carmel Wesleyan Church on Wednesday nights for bible study.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Shaunathan Bell and Rev. Donny Hilyer officiating. Burial will follow in Adamsburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests help toward funeral expenses.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Michelle T. Baker; his children Matt Baker, Haley Spillman (Josh), and Jordanna Earl (Terry); grandchildren (who called him P-Paw) Elsie, Jack, Jett, and Walt Spillman and Tripp, Jaxson, Jalyn, and Tre Earl; father Jimmy Baker; brother Mike Carpenter (Marchita); nephews Austin Carpenter (Carolyn) and Alex Carpenter; and chosen brother George McCurdy (Sherry).
He was preceded in death by his mother Iris Baker.
