Marty Broman, Rogersville, died Monday, April 30, 2018. He was 67 years old. He was born in Council Bluffs Iowa, and lived most of his younger life in Marysville and Russell, Kansas. He spent 10 years in Missouri, where he met and married his wife Betty Ann. The last 20 years were spent in Alabama, the last several years working on the livestock farm he dearly loved. He was best known as a radio broadcaster and meteorologist. He worked several years for KTTS Radio in Springfield, MO. In Alabama, he was meteorologist and news director for Athens Broadcasting, and the Cumulus Media in Athens. He loved his family, his cows, severe weather, youth athletics, and his Kansas City Royals.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 2nd at Rogersville Funeral Home from 2 – 3:30 with Graveside Service at 4 at Civitan Cemetery. Alex Bayes and Troy Miller will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Daniel Newton, Drew Browder, Matt Bruzese, Trevor Collier, Alan Reese and Bobby Rhodes.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles A. and Margaret Smith Broman; two brothers, George Pursell and Thomas Pursell.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years Betty Ann (Barnett) Broman. Children are Sandra (Steve) Berry of Olathe, KS; Sarah Broman (Troy Miller) of Russell, KS; Mike Broman of Huntsville and Katy Broman, Rogersville. Four grandchildren, Kristen (Richard) Salmans, Elizabeth Rhodes, Bobby Rhodes, and Trevor Berry. Other survivors include his sister Evelyn (Chuck) Goforth, Brother Charles Broman, Jr.., and Father-in-law James Barnett.
