Martin Craig Montgomery, 72, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at his home in Pontotoc, MS. Craig was born on September 19, 1951, to Woodrow Marshall and Mary Frank Warren Montgomery in Pontotoc, MS. He was a 1970 graduate of Pontotoc High School where he played football. He served his country for 2 years with the United States Marines. Craig earned his teaching degree at MSU and taught school in Memphis, TN, then he drove for multiple trucklines, and finally retiring as a dispatcher. He married Nancy Parker on December 3, 1993. He enjoyed deer hunting, watching football, and taking trips to the mountains.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Montgomery; his daughter, Angie Merchant; his grandchildren, Devin Keller, Jesse Keller (Morgan), and Chase Keller; great-grandson, Hayden Keller; his brothers, Mike Montgomery (Shirley), Tony Montgomery (Mary Ann), and Joel Montgomery; several nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 1PM with Bro. Michael Bailey officiating. Visitation will begin at 10AM and continue to service time. Burial will follow in New Faith Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Tutor, Brody Hendricks, Danny Allen, Casey Smith, and Mike Harvel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrel Waldo, Scotty McDonald, Devin Keller, Jesse Keller, and Chase Keller.
