Martin Carmack Gobbell of Collinwood, TN was born June 19, 1931 in Wayne County, TN, the son of the late Bill Mack and Pearl Monetta Davis Gobble. He was united in marriage to Anna Ruth Dixon on November 27, 1957.
Mr. Gobbell was a Freewill Baptist minister, having pastored Odem’s Chapel Community Church over 21 years and was a member of Millrock Freewill Baptist Church. He was retired from Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company .
Mr. Gobbell departed this life on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 3 Months, 20 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Ruth Gobbell; sons, Timothy Mack Gobbell, John Mark Gobbell and wife, Sherry, and Philip Dixon Gobbell and wife, Kristi all of Collinwood, TN; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Davis and husband, Bennie of Hohenwald, TN; grandchildren, Jason Gobbell, Matthew Gobbell, Kassie Henderson, Tristan Gobbell, Jessica Dodd, Jill Gobbell, Shelly Gobbell, Kebrina Davis, Dakota Davis, Zoiee Gobbell, Sophie Gobbell; great -grandchildren, Jayda Dodd, Jaylee Dodd, Jett Dodd, Jagger Dodd, Kyler Haddock, Hannah Glass, Morgan Henderson; a brother, Vance Allen Gobbell and wife, Janet of Lawrenceburg, TN; sisters, Mary Jewell Moore and Wanda Faye Crews both of Lawrenceburg, TN, Imolene Watson of Nashville, TN; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gobbell was preceded in death by a son, Martin Keith Gobbell; a brother, Marvin Edward Gobbell; and a sister, Juanita Estell Gower.
Services will be Friday, October 12, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Ben Kobberling and Tim Hanback officiating. Burial will be in Shawnettee Memory Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Turnbow, Steven Turnbow, Blake Gobble, Brian Gobble, Matthew Gobbell, Jason Gobbell, Dakota Davis, Mike Gower, and Jonathan Kephart. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
