Martha Sue Barnes, age 77 of Sherwood, passed this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was a daughter of the late Joe and Claudia Hill. Before her retirement, she was employed at the Winchester Hat Corporation for over forty years. She loved Jesus and her family tremendously. Sue was a lifelong member of Sherwood Emmanuel Apostolic Church. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-eight years, George H. Barnes Jr; brothers, Jack (Minnie) Ray Hill and James (Pat) Hill; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Barnes, Geraline Garner, and Joyce Jackson. Sue is survived by her loving children, Bryan (Donna) Barnes of Winchester, and Angela Arnold of Winchester; grandchildren, Camdyn Barnes, Bella Barnes, and Bryson Barnes; brother, Franklin (Ethylene) Hill; sisters, Mary Jo Hill, and Ruth Ray; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth (Marilyn) Barnes, Ronald Barnes, Michael Barnes, Carter Barnes, and David (Patricia) Jackson. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of relatives, church family, and friends. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Sherwood Emmanuel Apostolic Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Sherwood Emmanuel Apostolic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
