Martha “Polly” Maxine Edwards, age 83 of Athens, AL passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Martha was born June 18, 1935 in Marshall County to Carlton Callahan and Louise Elkins.
Services are Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with Father Tom and Father Joseph officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery in New Market.
She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Gibbs (David); son, Phillip Edwards (Alice); grandchildren, Lisa Barfield (Shelton), Sierra Edwards, Paul Gibbs (Amanda) and Robert Gibbs (Stephanie); 7 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Dorothy; brother, Jerry.
Preceded in death by her parents; son, James; brother, Ronnie.
Pallbearers are Paul Gibbs, Daniel Gibbs, Shelton Barfield, Robert Gibbs, Evan Sheffield and Sarah Resler.
