Martha Orr Short, age 95, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Sunday, March 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was born January 17, 1930, in Farmington, Tennessee, to the late James Howard and Gladys Fagan Orr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dan Short; five brothers, James Howard (Pete), Paul Edward, Charles Richard, Robert Alfred, and Thomas Lee Orr; two sisters, Dorthy Orr Chunn and Anna Orr Clark.
She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Short Dalton (Ronnie) of Lewisburg; two sons, Rick Short of Lewisburg and Randy Short (Cindy) of Columbia; grandchildren, Jennifer Knott, Emily Hughes, Erin Fish, Adam Short, Tyler Short, Amy Kenney, and Neil Dalton; 14 great grandchildren.
Martha worked for the Marshall County school system for 29 years as the school secretary for several different schools. She enjoyed sewing and quilting in her spare time. Her favorite pastime, however, was taking care of her family.
Visitation with the family will be held at London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm
Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Short Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
