Martha Opalene Darty, 84, of Jasper, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, in her home.Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Friday, April 25, 2025, at 12 p.m., at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, with burial at Curry Cemetery. Josh Mayes will officiate.
Martha was preceded in death by her father, William V Dobbins; mother, Wilma Phillips Dobbins; siblings, Ellis V Dobbins, Vaughn Rigsby, and Wendall Dobbins; grandparents, Harvey and Sara Phillips; and in-laws, Sam and Rose Darty.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy E Darty; children, Joe Darty (Tina), Mike Darty (Vicki), Tim Darty (Misty), and Sherry Darty Henslee (Ken); 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sara Postalwait and Dianna Vines; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tripp Ratliff, Jordan Walker, Asher Parker, Knox Manasco, Brooks Darty, and Mason Darty.
Pallbearers will be Joey Darty, Zac Manasco, Bentley Miller, Blake Darty, Jeremy Walker, Laine Walker, Chase Parker, and Ryan Darty.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Curry Cemetery Fund, 6451 Curry Hwy, Jasper, AL 35503 or to St Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
