Martha Larie Grissett of Lacey’s Spring passed away on March 21, 2024 at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama. She was born on April 28, 1945 to Moses Christopher “Crick” Eubanks and Ruth Olene Compton in Arab, AL. She was a native of Arab and graduated from Arab High School in 1963. She attended the College of Commerce in Huntsville, AL where she studied Business Administration. While working at Dunavant’s Department Store in downtown Huntsville she met her husband Harry E. Grissett, Jr. They married on April 5, 1968 and shared their lives for over 32 years, ending with his death November, 2020. Martha continued her working career as a secretary for Boeing, Thikol, and GE. After her two sons were born, she became a substitute teacher at Lacey’s Spring Elementary School. She graduated from Athens State University in 1988 with a bachelor’s in Business Management. Martha attended Bethlehem Baptist church in Lacey’s Spring and was the secretary there for several years before retiring.

Family members left behind to cherish their loving memories of Martha include her two sons, Jason (Kayla) Grissett of New Hope, AL and John (Amber) Grissett of Lacey’s spring, AL and three wonderful grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents M.C. and Ruth Eubanks, her brother Kenneth H. Eubanks, and her husband Harry E. Grissett, Jr.

A memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m. on April 6, 2024 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lacey’s Spring, AL. Brother Jonathan Plunkett will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Autism Speaks (PO Box 37148, Boone, IA 502037), the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), or the American Heart Association (www.heart.org).
