Martha Joann Weathers, 79, of Huntsville AL, passed away peacefully on June 22 at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by her family.
Joann was born on April 4th, 1943 to Leslie and Margaret Lasater in Huntsville, AL.
Joann was a member of the harvest community all of her life, and she graduated from Sparkman High School in 1961.
After graduation, she landed a job as an interviewer for the State of Alabama, kicking off her 25 year career in human resources.
In 1988, she met Mack Weathers, and they were married in 1991.
After retiring , Joann spent her time working alongside Mack at his businesses, traveling as often as she could to the Smokey Mountains, and caring for her 4 grandchildren. Towards the end of her life she enjoyed living beside and caring for her 2 great grandchildren.
Joann was predeceased by her daughter, Frances; her parents, Leslie and Margaret Lasater; her brother, Ray Lasater; and her husband, Mack Weathers. She is survived by her son Wayne (Heather) Graviett; her 4 grandchildren: Lauren (Eric) Clardy, Cole Graviett, Kristen Graviett, and Cody Graviett; and her 2 great grandchildren: Anna and Avery Clardy.There will be a graveside service held Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Huntsville Memorial Gardens at 1:30pm.
