Martha Jean Garrett, 81, of Dennis, Miss., died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Cottage of the Shoals. She was born in Dennis, Miss. on Sept. 19, 1931, and was retired from Golden Manufacturing. She was a member of Dennis United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, Miss. with Brother Tim Hankins officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery, Dennis, Miss. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Miss., will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are two sons, Dale Garrett and wife, Reta, of Muscle Shoals, Ala., and Dean Garrett and wife, Pamela, of Tuscumbia, Ala.; two sisters, Mildred Culp and Hilda Johnson; two brothers, Paul Flurry and Joe Flurry; three grandchildren, Clint Garrett, Jennifer Garrett Moore and Jeffrey Garrett; and three great-grandchildren, Ella, Lillie and Cooper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, R.E. and Ethel Flurry; two brothers, Reece Flurry and Freed Flurry; and two sisters, Opal Tidwell and Quaye Byram.
Pallbearers will be Clint Garrett, Jeff Garrett, Randy Groover, Stewart Moore, Scott Caldwell and Mitch Parrish.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 4, at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Miss. and 8 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
