Martha Charlotte (Cloud) Rorex, 93 of Bridgeport, AL died at the home of her daughter Jane Holland in Dutton, AL on June 27, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Doran’s Cove December 9, 1930, to her parents Harry and Jessie Thomas Cloud. She was married to her husband Elmoore Rorex for 66 years. She retired from her job as Bridgeport High School cafeteria manager after 25 years of service. She was a member of the Stevenson Church of Christ.
Charlotte is survived by son Glenn (Bonnie) Rorex of Bridgeport, AL; daughter Jane (Larry) Holland and grandson Jeff (Colette) Holland of Dutton, AL; granddaughter Angie (Mark) Sutton of Stevenson, AL; grandson David Walker of Chattanooga, TN.; sisters-in-law Patsy Rorex of Bridgeport, AL and Betty Cloud of Clarksville, TN; great grandchildren Jason (Whittney) Horne of Dalton, GA and Jenee (James) Day of Columbus, GA; and great-great grandchildren Emmett, Wyatt and Levi and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins and special friend Deb Cagle.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Jessie Thomas Cloud, husband Elmoore Rorex, brother Ted Cloud, sister Dot (Bill) Bean, sister-in-law Joan (J.B.) Hagan, brother-in-law Tommy Rorex, and sister-in-law Martha (Chester) Vaughn.
Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 2024, 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday, 10-11 a.m. at Rudder Funeral Home, Bridgeport, AL. The funeral will be Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel with ministers Barry Grider and Randy Smith officiating. Interment will be at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
Her favorite charities are the Bridgeport Church of Christ World Mission Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
