Martha C Dhority, daughter of the late James Rufus Cabaniss and the late Lula Belle Keenum Cabaniss, born on February 22, 1925, went to be with the Lord on March 10,2014 in Arlington, Texas, where she has resided for the last six years. A native of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Martha was married to the late William R. Dhority. They and their children lived in many different places while Bill served in the US Air Force. On his retirement in 1974, they moved back to where they always considered “home” – Tuscumbia, and lived on Locust Shores.
Martha had three children, Cheri Dhority Lubow, Toni Dhority Smith, and the late William Madison Dhority. She is survived by her two daughters, one son-in-law Steve Smith, four grandchildren, Scott Lubow, Rebecca Lubow Zubroski, Justin Smith, Travis Smith, their spouses, and six great grandchildren. G-Mommy will be greatly missed by them all. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she gave her children and grandchildren a wonderful link to the past.
Funeral arrangements are through Morrison Funeral Home at 825 North Main Street Tuscumbia, Alabama 35674. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 22, and the funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Chapel. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Tuscumbia.
