Martha Ann “Mot” Reeps Davis – Obituary

MarthaMartha Ann “Mot” Reeps Davis, 75, Russellville, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mot attended school at Mt. Star Junior High and graduated from Russellville in 1957. She was a member of Russellville church of Christ. She was a lunchroom manager at Phil Campbell High School for many years. She was a special mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Everyone that knew Mot loved her and will miss her.

The visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. Speaking at the funeral will be Bro. Jonathan Caldwell, and Mot’s children, Bryan, Bruce, & Sherry Davis. Burial will be at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.

She is survived by children, Michael Bryan Davis (Rhonda Thornton), Bruce Alan & Pat Davis, Sherry Jane Davis; grandchildren, Chase Davis, Blake Davis, Codie & Ed Marynowitz, Blair Davis, Callie & Levi Howard; great-grandchildren, Braxton Davis, Blakelee Davis, Edward “Ward” Michael Marynowitz; sisters, Jane Fretwell Hargett, Elizabeth Reeps; in-laws, Dellie & Denton McCarley, Corrine Davis, Martha Nell Reeps, Pete Hill; and numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Jack L. Davis; daughter, Terry Elaine Davis; father, Romas Glenn Reeps; mother, Marie Logan Reeps; brothers, Bobby Glenn Reeps, Steve Reeps, Billy Reeps; and sister, Bernice Barnes.

The pallbearers will be Daryl Rice, Phillip Fretwell, Mark Reeps, Mike Reeps, Jerry McCarley, Joel McCarley, James McCarley, Michael Davis, Brad Pounders, Bryan Pounders, Andrew Guinn, and Avery Guinn.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama, Michelle Williams, Keesha Lindley, and Candace Cooper for the love and care of our mother.

Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
