Martha Alice (Whitten) Morris, age 98, of Fulton Mississippi went to be with her heavenly father on December 30, 2023 after a brief illness. Born on October 14, 1925 to Amos and Julia (Cason) Whitten in Dorsey Mississippi, she graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School in 1944. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for most of her life and loved both the church and her church family.
She was the devoted and loving wife of Edward Morris for 66 years until his passing in 2014. Martha was a very special “Mimi” to her grandchildren, whom she adored. She was a baker for the public for 14 years and was known by many as the Caramel Cake Lady.
Funeral services will be at 1pm on Friday January 5, 2024 at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Clayton officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12 – 1pm on Friday January 5 at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Martha Morris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Morris; brothers Lloyd Whitten and George Whitten; sisters Edith Loague and Gladys Whitten and her beloved grandson Matthew Catalano.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Ransom of Murfreesboro TN; son Danny Morris (Ariane Amiri) of Charleston, SC; grandchildren Sarah Jane Easterly (Karl), Danielle Morris Holloway (Adam) and Luke Amiri Morris; and great- grandchildren Edward Easterly and Zelda Holloway, and many loved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Charleston Place for the excellent care and companionship they gave to our mother these many years. A special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care over the last few weeks.
