Mrs. Marsha Elaine Jacobs, age 76, of McMinnville, TN passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the Webb House. She was born on April 18, 1950 at the Falkner Springs Hospital, grew up in Oak Ridge and always had fond memories of the area, and was a member at Westwood Church of Christ. She was a respected elementary educator at Irving College for many years and ending her teaching profession at Warren County High School as a librarian. She enjoyed sewing and reading in her spare time. Her and her husband, David, loved having pet dogs in their family. They took great delight in knowing all of the neighborhood dogs, often times leaving the garage door open so they could stop by for a drink of water or a treat. New families in the neighborhood were always welcomed by Marsha and David, especially if they had a dog.
Marsha found beauty in traveling and often times saw it as a gift. She enjoyed trips to the west coast including Alaska as well as European destinations. Her all-time favorite place to travel was Japan. She took pride in being an ambassador with My Sister City in Japan and looked forward to the trips with her students of Warren County High School.
Survivors include her sister April (Marty) Nygard, 1st cousin and best friend Darrell Gribble, sisters-in-law Marion Jacobs of Morrison, TN, Debbie Jacobs of Brentwood, TN, Abbe Hale and husband Bryan of Brentwood, TN, several cousins, a host of extended family and friends, her new found family at the Webb House, and her cherished group of ladies affectionally known as the Yo-Yo’s. She is preceded in death by her parents Ivan Dale Gilley and Mary Lois Green Gilley, and her husband David Michael Jacobs.

Funeral services for Marsha Jacobs are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 28, 2026 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. Family and friends will meet prior to the funeral at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Viola Valley Dogs, Meals on Wheels, or the Magness Memorial Library.
