Marlene Fikes Sullins – Obituary

Marlene Fikes Sullins, 81, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Survivors include daughters, Daphne S. Perry (Randy) of Huntsville, and Andrea S. Nichols of Tuscaloosa; son, Charles A. “Chip” Sullins Jr. (Michelle) of Huntsville; grandchildren, Meredith Perry, Lillie Nichols, Emma and Charlie Sullins; and brother, Tommy Fikes (Linda) of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Sullins, and brothers, Joseph H. Fikes of Huntsville and Jimmy Fikes of Hamilton.
Mrs. Sullins was born and raised in Hamilton but had been a resident of Huntsville since 1963. A graduate of the University of Alabama, she was a diehard fan of the Crimson Tide. She was a long time member of the Huntsville Board of Realtors and was very active in the community; among her service included past chairman of Christian Women’s Club, board member of various organizations and Bible study leader. She was quick to share her love of her community and her love for the Lord with all who would listen.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Charlie Orr of West Minister, South Carolina officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
