 Marlena Deray Goodman HowardMarlena Deray Goodman Howard, 53, of Rogersville passed away Friday, March 15th, 2019 at Huntsville Hospital. She was a 1983 graduate of Lauderdale County High School and Calhoun Community College and worked for TVA for 35 years. She was a member of Clements Baptist Church where she taught Children’s Sunday School.
Marlena loved to laugh and photography – first and foremost her children and family. She also enjoyed being a year round volunteer for Operation Christmas Child.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vernon & Wilma Goodman, Reeder Johnson and Mauvolene Johnson and her loved fur baby, Socks. She is survived by her sons, Joshua Andrew (Sara) Howard and Jonathan Chandler (Allie) Howard; parents, Ray & Betty Goodman; siblings, Joanna (Yogi) Miller and Jason (Carol) Goodman; nieces, Makayla Miller and Piper Goodman; nephews, Alex Goodman and Bradley Miller; beloved dog, Bella; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 18th from 12 – 2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in the chapel with Caleb Gooch and Bill Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Civitan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Humphries, David Purser, Jesse Dison, John Nelson, Matt Burzese and Logan Whitworth.
Donations may be made to the Operation Christmas Child through Clements Baptist Church, 8690 US Hwy 72, Athens, AL 35611.
The family would like to express thanks to Huntsville Hospital CVICU nurses and staff for their care and to all the friends and family for their prayer during this time.
