Marla “Big Mama” Stojak age 66, passed away surrounded by family Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. Marla was born November 13, 1953 in Chicago, Iliinois to the late Stanley and Eleanor Stojak.
Marla was a person that was truly full of kindness. If someone needed food she would feed them with what she had, if they need a place to stay her home was offered, she was the kind of person that would give the shirt off of her own back. So naturally she became known as “Big Mama” or “Mama Marla” she got those nicknames from all of the people she had taken care of throughout her life. She jokingly would call her home the Wayward house for Children. Albeit at times Marla could be stubborn, she was generous and loving. She is loved and will be dearly missed.
Marla is survived by her children: Jason Stojak, Sissy (Rodney) Burkeen, Anthony (Erika Lozada) Contreras, and Victoria (Chris) Brannon; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
