Mark Jerome Godsey, age 61 passed away peacefully at his home on May 11, 2026. He was born March 19, 1965 to Charles and Nancy Godsey. Mark was a lifelong Alabama resident whose kindness, humor, and love for family left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was a part of the community with the Courtland Fire Department for a number of years. Mark was known for his contagious laugh and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. He was also known for his love of his family and especially the love for his grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m. at Courtland Baptist Church, where the service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Brother Jeffery Collins will officiate. Mark is survived by his loving wife Lisa Davis; children Alexsis Casteel (Jacob), Skylar Davis (Gracie), and Baleigh Godsey; cherished grandbabies Jayonni Boyd, Blakely Davis, Kamryn Davis, Hudson Davis, Clara Casteel, Raelynn Casteel; and a host of nephews and nieces. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Nancy Godsey; grandparents Pauline and Forrest “Tutus” Clardy; brother Mike Godsey; nephew Chase Godsey; niece Keisha Godsey.
