Mark C. Kulaw, age 64, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away on March 12, 2019. He was born on September 13, 1954 in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Chet and Helen Kulaw.
Mark was a talented athlete that enjoyed running, hiking, basketball and soccer. He also held a black belt in Judo. Mark was a true outdoorsman: an avid fly fisherman, saltwater angler, and bird watcher. He had vast knowledge of and appreciation for music, but nothing ever trumped the Beatles. Mark was also an award-winning and gifted photographer. He retired as Chief Photographer and Photo Editor for the Northwest Florida Daily News after 29 years. Most of all, he dedicated his life to his family. Mark was a strong, loving father who adored his daughters and was a devoted husband.
Mark is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Kulaw of Fort Walton Beach, FL; daughters, Dannielle Kulaw Conkle (Jeremy) of Corpus Christi, TX, and Kendra Kulaw Becker (David) of Fort Walton Beach, FL; grandson, Wiley Conkle of Corpus Christi, TX; parents, Chet and Helen Kulaw of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Lenore Denys (Ken) of Sterling Heights, MI, Karen Van Kampen (Chip) of Morris, IL, and Stacy Smeltzer (Tommy) of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Gary Kulaw (Debra) of Decatur, AL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at Davis-Watkins Funeral Home, 113 NE Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547 on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 3 p.m. with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
