Marjorie Sue Clark

October 6, 1926- March 31, 2026

After over 99 wonderful years of taking care of her family and friends, Margie went home. Waiting there for her was a host of family including her parents Pope and Ruth Roberts, her brother, sisters and their spouses, William “Bill” and Ellen Roberts, Sarah and Howard Grissom, Jimmie and Walt “Bud” Grissom, Martha and Morris McCormick. Her husband Edward Clark and their daughter Janice Clark also preceded her home. Left to hold their special memories of her are her son Ed “Buddy” Clark and daughter Brenda Anderson. Grandchildren; Amy Denton (Bryan) and Donnie Clark, bonus grandson Mark Anderson (Heather). Great Grandchildren; Alex Cassidy (Skylar Carson-Reynolds), Sydney Cassidy, Cali Clark, Sara Clark, and their mother Amy Moore Clark. Bonus grandchildren; Natosha Denton (Kyle Hudson), Holly Denton, Keigen Kirk, Beckett and Finley Anderson and bonus great, great grandchildren; Chase Ferrell and Ember Smith, special nieces and nephews and also her little cat Blackie will also miss her.

She was a beautician for over 60 years while raising her children. She often said her clients were her friends. She also loved to cook and sew. She fed anyone who stopped by and you couldn’t leave without eating! She made her last batch of biscuits just last week and hand sewed quilts for most family members for Christmas gifts in 2025.

She loved her family and would tell anyone how proud she was of all of them and how precious they were to her. She was a walking history of both Warren and Van Buren Counties and would only tell the stories in her later years, some of which were the stories she only heard from behind her chair in the shop. She loved traveling with her sisters, and they loved to play cards, cook together and watch football. They could often be caught dancing as they had since they were little girls.

“Grandma Margie” as she is known to so many, will be missed and will continue to be a legend and a matriarch to her family. She said Sunday she was going home in a couple of days and there would be a party. She was right, she went home two days later, and we have no doubt, Papa, Janice, her sisters and Brother Bill were waiting for a reunion.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Spencer Town Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 4, 2026 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. R. C. Christian and Bro. Basil Timoschuk officiating. Burial will follow in Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
