Marjorie Snow Short, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Church Street Manor in Ecru, MS. She was born on June 22, 1935 to Samuel James and Ruby Whitehurst Snow. Marjorie graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Medicine in Memphis, TN in 1957. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center and Oxford-Lafayette County Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit. Marjorie enjoyed flower gardening, raising English Shepherd puppies, sewing, crocheting, farming, fishing and helping her husband Billy J. Short make sorghum molasses.
Services will be at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Snow and Dr. Terry Cutrer officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
Survivors include her two sons, Billy Short (Betty) and Robert “Bobby” Short (Pam); five grandchildren, Sara Short (David Qualls), Nathan Short (Ashley), Thomas Short (Anya), John Short (Breck) and Beth Norton (Sonny); seven great-grandchildren, Anna Belle Qualls, Charles Qualls, Samuel Norton, Iva Grace Norton, Weaver Norton, Ryder Short and Kelby Short; three brothers, Donald Snow (Joyce), Sam Snow (Joyce) and Phillip Snow (Sherry); two sisters-in-law, Nanci Snow and Louise Snow and a brother-in-law, Dennis Myers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy J. Short; and her siblings, Dottie June Snow, Infant Snow, Robert Snow, Thomas Snow, Mary Martin (Junior) and Rose Myers.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Stubblefield, Chad Stubblefield, Terry Stubblefield, Sonny Norton, Burt Kemp and Jeremy Graham.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
