Marjorie Lee Monroe, age 95, of Watertown, formerly of Greenbrier, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the Quality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Lebanon. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Saturday, July 11, 2026 in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier, with Bro. Larry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Ron Knipper, Randy Knipper, Rylan Eli Knipper, Bailey Adcox, Andrew Haley and Steven Brown serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Monroe was born April 29, 1931, in Vanceburg, KY to the late William and Ida Mae Edwards Brown. Her greatest joy was caring for her family. As a homemaker, she dedicated her life to providing love, comfort, and unwavering support to all who entered her home.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Monroe was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Monroe; daughter, Jeannie Knipper; sons, Raymond, Charles and William Knipper; and a brother, Walter Brown.
She is survived by 4 grandchildren, Ron (Kimberly) Knipper, Regina (Ryan) Owens, Randy Knipper and Rachel (Noah) Johnson; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Kathy) Brown, William (Cornelia) Brown, and Glenn (Carol) Brown; sisters, Betty Moore, Geneva Stephens, Billie Fuchs, Carolyn Whitley, Rosemary Sandfoss, Kay Estes, and Edith Russell; and countless nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
