Marjorie J. Taylor – Obituary

Marjorie J. Taylor, of Mt. Olive, Ala., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at the age of 84. Marjorie was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ray F. Taylor; parents, H.J. and Annie Cordela Hitt; brothers, Harlan Hitt and Donald “Buck” Hitt; and sisters, Connie V. McClusky and Betty J. Kilpatrick.

She is survived by her loving family, a son, William R. Taylor (Karen); daughters, Regina K. Taylor, Debra A. Taylor, and Helen Diane Rouse; her four grandchildren, David, Cheryl, Jason, and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Caia and Joshua; brother, F.G. “Buddy” Hitt; and a sister, Helen Mims.

Marjorie enjoyed reading, cross stitching, gardening, and bird watching at her children’s home. She was a vivacious 27-year cancer survivor who appreciated family and all the little things some might overlook. She was a longtime member of Lee’s Chapel Baptist Church. A visitation will be held today at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. with graveside services following at 2 p.m. in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
