Marjorie Anne Foxworth Maxey, 81, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Diversicare in Amory. She was born in Selma, TN. Margie moved to Amory in the 1970’s and had a career in the area furniture industry, retiring from People Lounger in 2007. On May 31, 2003 Margie married her longtime companion, James Maxey and they had over 30 wonderful years together. If you knew Margie, you knew she loved everything outdoors. She could often be found deer hunting, fishing, tending to her yard and flowers or just being outside enjoying the beauty of the day. She also enjoyed square-dancing every chance she got. Margie made it her life’s duty to be the best wife, mother and grandmother she could be. She made each relationship something special and extraordinary. Her heart was full when all of the family would get together, especially at Christmas. Margie is fondly remembered for the magic she put in the holidays and will be fondly remembered as a giving and selfless person who lived each day for others.
Margie is survived by her husband James Maxey, Amory; daughters, Denise Sanders (Danny), Amory and Wanda Roberts (Scott), Athens Community; step daughter, Lora Randolph (Ken), Amory; step son, Westley Maxey (Janice), Saltillo; grandchildren, Courtney Williams (Bradley), Amory, Kameryn Irby (Jacob), Chattanooga, Jake Randolph (Stephanie), Amory, Zack Randolph (Hannah), Amory; Kaitlyn and Justin Barney; great grandchildren, Kylee, Oakley and Ryker Williams, Cameron and Crews Randolph, Reece and Rhodes Randolph; several brothers and sisters.
Margie is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandy.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Tim McMillan officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 11 AM until 1 PM.
