Marjie Lucille Guttery Kephart was born in Lawrence County TN on August 24, 1927 to the late William Houston Guttery and Rhoda Bell Taylor Guttery Woodall. She was united in marriage to Nathan Bailey Kephart on February 21, 1953. Mr. Kephart preceded her in death on January 04, 1998. She was a member of the Collinwood and County Line Churches of Christ. She worked at Trace Manufacturing in Waynesboro and then transferred to Collinwood. When she was not working, Ms. Kephart enjoyed working in her garden, cooking and spending time with her kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Ms. Kephart passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Waynesboro Post Acute and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro at the age of 97 years, 5 months, and 18 days.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry Kephart and wife Tina of Collinwood, TN; Jimmy Kephart; David Kephart and wife Sandra both of Waynesboro, TN; one daughter, Patricia Clayton and husband Teddy of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter-in-law Judy Bratton Kephart of Waynesboro, TN. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Amy Kephart, Austin Kephart and wife Julie, Alan Clayton and wife Suzanne, Erica Comer and husband William, Amanda Thompson, Kevin Clayton, Steven Kephart, Jeremy Kephart and wife Nancy, Jason Kephart and wife Patti; ten great-grandchildren: Andrea Kephart, Ben Thompson, Alex Comer, Garrett Clayton, Madison Ritter, Isabell Comer, Reese Clayton, Samuel Kephart, Paitlyn Kephart and Zachary Kephart.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Nathan Charles Kephart, and her siblings Lola Mae Guttery Locke, Leonard Eugene Guttery, Loucinda Caroline Guttery Locke, Sarah Elizabeth Guttery Martin, Vernie Sill Guttery Kephart, and George Washington Guttery.
Visitation with the Kephart family will be on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM all at Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation Chapel.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2025 with Mitchell Skelton and Gregg Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Spann Cemetery in Lawrence County.
Those honored to serve as pallbearer will include: Jason Kephart, Steven Kephart, Alan Clayton, Kevin Clayton, Jeremy Kephart, and Austin Kephart
