Marion Louise Malone Green – Obituary

Marion Louise Malone Green, but affectionately known by everyone as “Mama Green,” was born on Jan. 28, 1936, in Florence, Alabama to the late Melvin Malone and Mamie Lee Brown Malone. She was married to the late James L. Green. Mama Green passed from this life on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Annex, Florence, Alabama.

She was a faithful and devoted mother at Free Spirit Bible Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Lawrence Green (Carla), Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Bryant Green (Lesa), Goletha, California; two daughters, Renita Green and Sharon Green, both of Florence, Alabama; two sisters, Miriam Brown, Richmond, Virginia, and Joyce Malone, Florence, Alabama; adopted sister, Evelyn Gail Sutton, Detroit, Michigan; two aunts, Katherine Brown, Paterson, New Jersey, and Margaret B. Richardson, West Palm Beach, Florida; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; special friends, Annie Z. Bodie, Mary Thomas, and Lillie Kelly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends far and near.

Funeral services for Mrs. Green will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Free Spirit Bible Baptist Church, Florence, Alabama.

Reverend William Freeman is officiating.

Burial is in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Florence, Alabama.

The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

The public viewing will be today, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Florence, is directing.
