Marilyn Mae Unruh Robertson passed away suddenly on January 25, 2025. She was born on July 11, 1938, to Mildred Jeffers Unruh and Otto Phillip Unruh, and she was predeceased by her husband, her brother Jim, and her sister, Marlene.
She married Robert Stafford Robertson on September 11, 1966. Survivors include two children, Catherine Sue Twesten (Ray) and Robert Stoddard Robertson (Kimeron); and four grandchildren, Katrina, Robert, Drake, and Meredith.
Marilyn was a navy nurse in California before she was married. She worked as an equal employment opportunity officer in Grafenwohr, Germany while her husband was stationed there. Later in her career, Marilyn worked at Huntsville Hospital in labor and delivery, served as director of Huntsville Hospice and president of the Alabama Hospice Association, and nursed with North Alabama Rehab. She was a member of the American Association of University Women for years, three of them as president.
Marilyn was loved dearly by her family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed very much.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
