Marilyn J. Comer, 64, died Saturday, December 13, 2014, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born November 18, 1950, in Buffalo, OK, she was the daughter of Albert and Wilma Ferbrache Chase. She was a resident of the Dorsey community for the past 44 years. She worked for the Circuit Clerk’s office, Mueller Brass, and Stovall Tax Services before taking ownership of the family business, Comer’s Restaurant, in the mid-1980s. She loved shopping; watching the Food Network; visiting with and cooking for her customers, friends, and family; collecting cookbooks; and spoiling her eight grandchildren. She was a long-time member of Morning View Baptist Church in Dorsey.
Services will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Chris Burrows and Bro. Jackie Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Dorsey Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Comer, of Dorsey; her children, Carrie Hitt (Mark) of Mooreville, and Troy Comer (Robbie) and Terry Comer (Emily), both of Dorsey; eight grandchildren, Addie, Tanner, and Meredith Hitt; and Madeline, Ethan, Mollie Jo, Nate, and Lily Afton Comer; her mother, Wilma Chase, of Buffalo, OK; three brothers, Terry Chase of Dorsey, and Paul Chase (Bobbie) and Mike Chase (Sherry), both of Buffalo, OK; and three sisters, Karen Johnson (Jimmy) of Gruver, TX, Joyce Silvey (Howard) of Kingman, KS, and Janice Summers (David) of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Chase; her niece, Leesa Marie Gray; and her in-laws, James and Joyce Comer.
Pallbearers will be Brian Comer, James Farris, Ryan Summers, Mark Summers, John Edwards, and Kevin Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Monday and from 7 a. m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
