Marie Wynn Lee Marie Wynn Lee passed away last Thursday (June 20).

Marie was born on August 21, 1928 in Blount County, Alabama. She lived her early life in Blount County, Alabama doing farm work and going to school. She came to Christ at age 11. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1947. She moved to Huntsville in 1951 and worked twice at Redstone Arsenal once in the early 1950s at the Photo Lab and again in the late 1970s at the Guided Missile School Library. Marie married in 1955 to Leland Lee Sr. and had two sons: Leland Lee, Jr. in 1956 and David Lee in 1959. She graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in History.

She was a housewife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, playing scrabble, and writing. Marie published some of her writings in magazines. She was a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father Hubert Farley Wynn Sr., her mother Jeannie Bullard Wynn, a sister Margaret Salem, and her brother Hubert Farley (Sonny) Wynn Jr.

Marie is survived by her husband Leland Lee Sr., a sister Shirley Crocker, and her sons Leland Lee Jr. & David Lee.

Visitation will be at 10-11 AM and The funeral at 11 AM will be held at the Whitesburg Baptist Church Chapel on Saturday, June 29th. There will be a graveside service at Nectar Cemetery (Blount County, AL) at 2 PM on the same day.  Berryhill Funeral Home and Whitesburg Baptist Church are handling the arrangements.
