Marie Wales Gates, 85 of Ardmore, Tennessee died on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at her home.
Born Sunday, December 16, 1928 in Elkmont, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Carlie Maples Wales and the late Ever Rich Wales. She was a member of Ardmore Church of Christ and a lifelong resident of this area. She loved quilting, reading, gardening, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a husband: Sam Ed Gates, a brother: Calvin Wales, and a sister Mary Hodges.
Surviving are sons, Jim Edd (Gina) Gates of Red Bay, AL and Keith Gates and fiance Diana Crouch of Elkmont, AL, daughters, Paulette & Tommy Evans of Warrior, AL, andPatti (Joe) Stagner of Ardmore, TN, eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Douglas Eubanks officiating. Burial will be in Hasting Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will recieve friends on Saturday, February 15, 2014, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL.
