Funeral for Marie Swindle Booker, 87, of Madison will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa with Reverend Victor Bonner officiating. Burial will be in Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Booker died Sunday, June 14, 2015. She was a lifelong member of American Association of Medical Assistants, American Business Women’s Association, Soroptimist International, Pilot Club and served on the Priceville Town Council. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William A. Booker Jr. and A.C. Swindle; parents, George Oswalt and Beulah Bannerman and brother, John Bannerman.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna (Paul) Vickery; four brothers, Earl Bannerman, T.A. Bannerman, Charles Bannerman and Harvey Bannerman; and two granddaughters, Nicole and Jenna Vickery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Vickery, Mike Vickery, Carl Walker, Bob Beck, Scottie McCluskey and Hunter Rivers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ruby Avery, Lesa Gaither, Sadie Bolton, Bernice Owens, Rozelle Howell, Don Howell, Tracie Fuqua, Madison Manor Nursing Home staff, Comfort Care Hospice, American Association of Medical Assistants (AL Chapters).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Decatur.
