Marie Cummins Wilson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was caring for her family, passed away peacefully on Friday at the home of her daughter Lisa in Culleoka, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Shannon Whipp officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Born on September 29, 1945, in Maury County, Tennessee, Marie was the daughter of the late Luther Cummins and the late Ruby Edmiston Cummins. On October 22, 1966, she married John K Wilson, with whom she shared nearly 37 years of marriage before his passing on August 9, 2003.
Marie worked for a short time as a seamstress at Weather-Tamer before embracing the role that would define her life. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Eddie Wilson, Danny Wilson (Angela), and Lisa Allred (Johnny); stepson John K Wilson, Jr. (Carolyn); daughter-in-law, Margie Wilson; grandchildren, Stephen Lunn, Jessica Hunt (Jeremy), Brooke Clendenen (Michael), Wesley Wilson, Magen Jordan (Taylor), Jacob Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson, Katie Goodface, Kathryn Cooper (Brock), Brandon Seagraves (Danielle), Sean Wilson, Missy Jones (Hayden), Crissy Wilson, Johnny Tomlin, and Rusty Tomlin; along with many beloved great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Timothy Lunn and Reese Wilson; stepdaughter, Emily Wilson; and her brother, Bill Cummins.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Wilson, Taylor Jordan, Sean Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Brandon Seagraves, and Michael Clendenen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dickie Ray, Dannylu Wilson, and Guy Penrod.
