Ms. Marie Clark Walker, 98, passed away Sunday evening, September 27, 2026, at Diversicare of Arab. A lifelong resident of the Morgan City community in Morgan County, Alabama, she was born January 22, 1928, to Harley Clark and Alice Izora Burks Clark. Her husband, Buford Walker, preceded her in death April 1974.
Marie was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Morgan County. For more than 40 years, she worked as an Avon sales representative, building friendships with customers throughout the community. She also had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed performing with the Morgan City Ladies Choir, whose members sang at many funerals and community events.
Family members surviving to cherish memories of Marie include her son, Kerry Glenn Walker, daughters, Patricia Couch and Sandra Whisenant; six grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren.
Preceding Marie in death include her husband, Buford Walker, her parents, Harley and Alice Izora Clark; daughter in law, Sandra Walker; and son in law, Dwight Whisenant.
Graveside service for Marie will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Mt. Olive Cemetery at Morgan City, AL. Randy L. Blakely will officiate. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel assisting with arrangement.
