Marie Blankenship

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Blankenship, age 89, are scheduled for 1 PM, Friday, September 29, 2017 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Mrs. Blankenship passed away early Wednesday in Lexington. She was born May 19, 1928 in Henderson County to the late Samuel Harrison Tomlin and Maggie Mae Hart Tomlin. She was a homemaker and enjoyed yard sales and gardening. She loved her grandchildren and was a wonderful mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ora Belton Blankenship; her sister, Jewell Quinn; and a special friend, Rubel Hamm. Survivors include her son, Thomas J. (Kelli) Blankenship of Lexington; her daughter, Carolyn (Tim) Maness of Darden; eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Luchita) Blankenship of Jackson, Jason (Samantha) Blankenship, April (David) Harrod, Jerid Blankenship, Megan (Jason) Wood, Brandon Maness, and Jacob (Kelsey) Maness all of Lexington, and Cooper Maness of Darden; eleven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. The family would like to say a special thank you to her Lexington Manor family that loved and cared for her. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-9 PM and on Friday, 11 AM until 1 PM.
