Funeral for Margueritte McCurry Blackwell, 91, of Decatur will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Ridout’s Brown-Service FUNERAL HOMEwith visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Athens. The Lord called Margueritte home on Saturday, December 6, 2014. She was born November 23, 1923, in Lauderdale County to Walter and Naomi Bedingfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Thomas Leonard McCurry and Marcus Blackwell; brothers, Mac and Bill Bedingfield; and sister, Louise Starkey. She is survived by her son, Joseph Walter McCurry (Susan) of Wartrace, TN; daughters, Patricia Miller (Mike) of Decatur and Tommie Moore of Summerfield, FL.;four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three stepchildren, four stepgrandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
