Margarethe Cantrell passed away Sunday at Crestwood Medical Center. She was born in Vockenhausen, Germany May 13, 1928. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Margarethe was a loving military spouse, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired Seargent Major Joel Braxton Cantrell, daughter, Delores Wales, and granddaughter, Jennifer Dennis.
Survivors include daughter, Rosemary Dennis of Burlington, NC; granddaughters, Christina Latta of Jamestown, NC, and Stephanie Froehlich (Dan) of Little Rock AR; great-grandsons, Ian and Nick Latta, and Jackson and Cole Froelich.
She spent her later years at Elmcroft at Byrd Springs enjoying daily activities and the company of friends.
The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Zaheer Khan and the staff of the Oncology/Acute Care of the Elderly Unit at Crestwood Medical Center for their years of compassionate care of Margarethe.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, December 5 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the funeral immediately following in the chapel. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
