Memorial service for Margaret W. “Peggy” Jones, age 76, of Decatur, will be Saturday, March 8,2014, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Doug Ripley officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service.
Mrs. Jones passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014, at her home. She was born August 30, 1937, in Jacksonville, FL to James and Lucretia Werner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James and Francis Werner, two sisters, Cecilia King and Theresa Collins (Paul), all of Jacksonville, FL.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh, and daughters, Jeanine Clare Jones of Birmingham, and Sheryl Lynn Jones of Homewood; two sisters, Mary Ann Nadeau and Hanora Biastre (George), both of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Peggy said she was content with her life’s work, being a wife, mother, and homemaker, having been married for 56 years to Hugh, her love, protector, and supporter in all things, and watching their two daughters grow into fine women.
Peggy was saved through her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of seven, and is now at rest with him in her heavenly home.
