Mrs. Margaret Turan, 86, passed away on her birthday Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Whitesburg Gardens. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, W.J. Turan; and one grandson, Jeremiah Brown.
She is survived by one son, Kevin Turan (Debra) of Vinemont; one daughter, Vickie Turan of Toney; three grandchildren, Clint Smith of Toney, Felicia Brown and Toni Payne (Jacob) of Cullman; and four great grandchildren, Kobe, Ty, Kaden and Kayla.
Margaret loved arts and crafts and working with her hands which she was very good at. She will most be remembered for her cooking skills, especially her green dressing, fried chicken and cat head biscuits! She will be dearly loved and missed by many people!
You may visit with the family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home. There will be a chapel funeral service held on Friday, May 10, 2013, at Valhalla at 11 a.m. with Rev. P.J. Jenkins officiating. Entombment will immediately follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
