Margaret Smith Honeycutt, 87, of Carbon Hill, died Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Capstone Village Assisted Living in Tuscaloosa.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial in Pocahontas United Methodist Church cemetery. Tex Ergle will officiate. Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.
Margaret was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the Goldenrod Garden Club of Jasper, and served as the manager of Alabama Fabrics for many years. Her interests included family, reading, cooking, and gardening. She was known for her love of her church and her community, her skills as a pianist and painter, and as a doting mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Alfred Honeycutt; son, Michael James Honeycutt; and parents, Roy Baker Smith and Clemmie Beasley Smith.
She is survived by her sons, David Honeycutt (Darlene) of Tuscaloosa and Charles Honeycutt (Debra) of Carbon Hill; grandchildren, Mary (Beth) Honeycutt, Megan Walsh (Christopher), Ryan Honeycutt, Katherine Honeycutt (Dustin), and Jennifer George (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Faith Honeycutt, Jackson George, Evelyn Walsh, and Declan Walsh; sister, Juanita Gann Eads of Jasper; brother, Roy E. Smith (Flo) of Gadsden; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Traditions Way of Capstone Village Assisted Living, especially Director Veranda Melton, for their loving care and compassion.
