Margaret Rye Profile PhotoMargaret Rye, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 6, 2026, in West Columbia, Texas, at the age of 88. She was born on December 9th, 1937, in Coffeeville, Alabama. Margaret graduated from Park High School in Chicago, and then went on to earn an associate’s degree in college. She spent her professional life working as an accountant for a florist shop.

Faith and fellowship were central to Margaret’s life. She was an active and devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Amory, Mississippi, and held the esteemed position of Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, reflecting her commitment to serving her cherished community. Above all, Margaret treasured her role as the matriarch of a large and loving family. She is remembered by all for her unwavering love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. She leaves behind three loving children: her daughter, Diane McNeill, and her sons, Kent and Kraig Rye. She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Jo Walker (Robert) and Sharon Corti; her brother, Erby “Butch” Huggins; her niece, Laura Ward; and her nephew, Paul Huggins. Margaret’s legacy shines brightly through her 14 adored grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, James Allen Rye, her parents, one brother, her sister, and her sons Kevan Rye, Kenny Rye, Keith Rye, David Rye, and John Hoffpauer.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude for every act of kindness, support, and friendship shown to Margaret throughout her lifetime.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, MS, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m., with Bro. Jimmy McFatter officiating.

Margaret Rye’s legacy of love, dedication, and faith lives on in every heart she touched. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
