Funeral service for Margaret Ruth Blackwood, age 84, of Decatur, will be Friday, March 14, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Allred officiating. The family will receive friends for one-half hour prior to service. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Blackwood, who died Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at her residence, was born March 19, 1929, in Danville, to John Wade Tomlinson and Myrtle Templeton Tomlinson.
She is survived by her loving husband, Herbert Hoover Blackwood of Decatur; four daughters, Katrina Loper (Allen) of Tuscaloosa, Tracy Bromirski (Pete) of Decatur, Donna Monk (Gary) of Priceville, and Dana Bisch (Tim) of Round Rock, TX; one brother, Tommy Tomlinson (Sybile) of Danville; one sister, Jerri Clanton (Kenneth) of Decatur; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Olivia, Mark, Eric, Hannah, Matthew, and Lana; and many loving nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Blackwood, Mike Blackwood, Lynn Blackwood, Billy Blackwood, John Boger, and Donnie Boger.
