Margaret Ruth Austin Blalock , a lifelong resident of Florence, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the age of 95 years old. She was a member of Wood Avenue Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Carl Seigenthaler. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Blalock was preceded in death by husbands, Earl Austin, Frank Roach, and Jessie Blalock; parents, Hal and Abbie Simmons; son, Stanley Austin; grandson, Bryan Austin; great granddaughter, Tamara Austin; brothers, Hershel, Sam, Earl, Charles, Granville, James, Clyde, Turner, Luther, Beaumont, and Donald; sisters, Atwood Oakly, and Vernon Bevis.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Austin and wife Elaine; grandchildren, Scott Austin and wife Kim, Stacy Austin, Dewayne Austin and wife Ann ; great-grandchildren, Nikkole Bush, Taylor, Lexie, Christopher, Ryan, Timothy, and Amanda Austin.
Active pallbearers will be J.W. Simmons, Tommy Simmons, Scott Austin, Dewayne Austin, Jerry Simmons, and Dan Richardson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Oakley, Clyde Austin, Dennis Austin, and Glennis Simmons.
