Margaret Josephine Stephens Keel,103, of Harvest, AL died Wednesday, March 04, 2020 at her home.
Born Saturday, June 10, 1916 in New Hope, AL, she was the daughter of the late William David “Dave” Stephens and Ista Elizabeth Hornbuckle Stephens.
She moved to the Harvest area in 1941 and was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church, and the Harvest Homemakers Club. She loved to write her poetry,quilting, working a big garden then canning and freezing what was grown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nathen Harris Keel; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
She is survived by her daughters Lorraine (Jim) Raby, Harvest, AL, and Jeanett Yarbrough, Athens, AL; sons, Jerry (Myra) Keel, Harvest, AL, Larry (Sheila) Keel, Harvest, AL; 9 grandchildren ,13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL with Bro. AL Pihringer officiating. Burial will be in Ford’s Chapel Cemetery, Harvest, AL.
