Margaret Jane Rodgers Dahlgren went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord on Friday, September 11, 2015.
Mrs. Dahlgren was born June 10, 1924, in Hartselle to Will R. Rodgers and Lucretia Templeton Rodgers. She graduated from Morgan County High School. She married Floyd Kenneth Dahlgren and they enjoyed 50 years together before his death. They had one son, Kenneth Roger Dalgren. Margaret also attended Rainey’s Beauty School and operated a beauty shop in her home for 40 years.
Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she sang in the choir and served in other areas of the Church. She loved her church and her many friends in the church. She enjoyed the many visits from Bro. Harold Thompson and many beautiful cards and phone calls from her friends. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son and
siblings: Othella Rodgers, Joyce DeVaney, William E. “Buddy” Rodgers, and Edward Rodgers.
She is survived by sisters: Mary Frances Rodgers and Carolyn and husband, Charter Nicholson, all of Hartselle and brother: Bob Rodgers and
wife: Mary of Decatur.
The family would like to thank Ivalene Patterson, Vicky Graves, Marsha Sanders and Sarah Gilbert, who have lovingly cared for Margaret during this past year. Thanks also to Chris Varner for her daily visits.
Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 at Peck Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be in the Peck Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. on Sunday with Bro Harold Thompson and Bro. Jimmy Bassham officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Chapel Cemetery.
Nephews will be pallbearers.
