Margaret Eileen Katsianis, 96, most recently of Cullman, passed away Monday. Born in Chicago, IL, the eldest of nine children, Margaret was big sister and caregiver to her siblings. She started to work at the age of 15 and retired from Adtran in Huntsville at 75! Margaret joined the Army during WWII but left the Army when she married. The mother of three children Margaret worked hard to support and nurture her family. She moved to Huntsville in 1990 to be close to her children and their families. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Katsianis.
Survivors include children, Patricia Truax (James), William VanDyke, and Roberta Bickel (Jim); grandchildren, Jeff Truax (Laurie), Jim Truax (Jeanne), Kurt Truax (Tina), Beth Ann Wojcik (Jim), Melissa Houser, William VanDyke, Jr., Sean Bickel (Karen) and Shane Bickel (Mary); 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Daley, Bradley Daley and Allison Bean-Hindman; and many nieces and nephews.
A private service will follow at a later date.
