Margaret Corley Wood, age 84 of Empire, passed away peacefully at her home on August 8, 2019. She was a life long member of New Canaan Baptist Church Empire, Alabama. She loved her church, her community, and her family. But most of all, she loved Jesus. Her wish was that everyone would know Jesus as their Lord and personal Savior.
Funeral service will be Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Family will receive friends beginning at 12: 00 pm for visitation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wood; parents, Luard and Della Corley; and siblings, Nelson Corley and Inez Attaway.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Wood (Delores) of Jasper, and Jed Wood (Kristie) of Empire; grandsons, Zach Wood of Hoover, and Cory Wood of Huntsville; brother, Phillip Corley, Sr. (Evelyn) of Empire; brother-in-law, Bobby Wood (Ailene) of Trussville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks all donations be made to New Canaan Baptist Church c/o Joyce Reeves 46 Hoyt Drive, Empire, Alabama 35063.
