Margaret Ann Edger Addington , 91, of Sheffield died Saturday, April 20, 2013.
Mrs. Addington was a native of Huntsville, Alabama, and a member of the Highland Park Church of Christ. She graduated from Florence State Teachers College, received a Master’s Degree from the University of North Alabama, and taught school for 27 years. She retired from the Sheffield City School System.
She was preceded in death by her parents John M. and Margaret Elizabeth Phillips Edger; brothers, Arnold Edger, Otis Edger, and Ernest Aders; and sisters, Isleen Wallace and Lillie Mae Wilbanks.
Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years, Victor G. Addington, Sheffield; sister, Jean Riddle, Huntsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Mike Drummond, Jasper, and Jenny Lynn and Joel Vinson, Decatur; grandsons, Michael Drummond and wife, Lee, Austin, Texas, and Matthew Drummond, Malibu, California; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Ben Hayes and Jeff Abrams officiating. Max Eady will conduct the song service. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Michael Drummond, Matthew Drummond, Butch Edger, John Wallace, David Wallace and Anthony Vinson.
The family thanks Jean Gay Mussleman, Dee Mussleman and the staff of ElderCare Services, Florence. for their professional care of Mrs. Addington for the past four years.
The Addington family appreciates the care and support received from Hospice of the Shoals during the final days of Mrs. Addington’s life on this earth.
