Marcus “Marc” David Motes, 36, passed away Dec. 2, 2015. The funeral services will be at Spry-Williams Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. before the service. Burial will follow the funeral at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Marc was born in Florence, Alabama, on Sept. 2, 1979. He graduated from Brooks High School in 1997, and most recently worked at Scope 310, a nonprofit organization providing services to citizens with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Marc was married to Rachel Frazier Motes. They were married for eight years.
Marc enjoyed helping others, spending time with nieces and nephews, friend and family, and college football.
Marc is survived by his wife, Rachel; his stepdaughter, Emma Jones; father, Terry Wayne Motes; stepmother, Sandy Robertson Motes; grandmother, Marjorie Fox Hallman; brothers, Terry Wayne Motes Jr., Christopher Michael Motes and Joseph Brady Wright; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Mullins Motes and Brandy Vickers Motes; and many nieces and nephews.
Marc was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Louise Hallman Wright; grandfathers, Joe Lee Hallman and Clarence Motes; and grandmother, Kathleen Barnes Motes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Compassion International.
